Guīlínggāo, also known as Tortoise Jelly. When I was little, I thought Guīlínggāo is made of a whole tortoise. I thought it is so gross to use tortoise as an ingredients. Also, I thought the bitter taste of it was came from the tortoise itself. A few years later, I found out that Guīlínggāo is made of Chinese medicine and the bottom shell of an endangered turtle.
